In 2015, over $27 million in grants were distributed to organizations all over the island of Ireland and to Irish causes around the world. Yet support for the non-profit sector comes in many forms, and not all of them are financial. In recognition of this, The Ireland Funds have continued to host annual grant workshops across Ireland for organizations interested in applying for a grant. Established in 2013, these workshops are now held annually across Ireland and Northern Ireland. At the workshops, organizations learn about The Ireland Funds’ two open grants programs, the Small Grant Round and the Flagship Investment Grant Round. These workshops also provide insight into the grantmaking process of The Ireland Funds and overall guidance on what makes a competitive application to The Ireland Funds as well as other funders. Expert speakers are also brought in to provide information on topics ranging from charity regulation to Board development and governance. Feedback from participants shows that this is a valued and worthwhile investment in the non-profit sector. “It was a very professional presentation, a first class venue and an information-packed hour and a half. I feel better prepared to set about the application and success or failure won’t be for want of information, direction or effort.” — Workshop participant from Belfast 2014 2013 Grant Workshops are now offered across Ireland Attendance has increased DUBLIN DUBLIN DUBLIN DUBLIN DUBLIN DUBLIN DUBLIN DUBLIN DUBLIN BELFAST BELFAST LIMERICK LIMERICK CORK CORK CORK CORK DERRY/LONDONDERRY GALWAY LONGFORD GALWAY LONGFORD WATERFORD WEST CORK/KERRY KERRY KERRY 2016 2015 DERRY/LONDONDERRY GALWAY SLIGO BELFAST CORK CORK LONGFORD DERRY/LONDONDERRY SLIGO BELFAST WATERFORD GRANT WORKSHOPS ARE NOW OFFERED ACROSS IRELAND
