March, 2017 The inaugural “Red Dot Green Dot” cultural evening in Singapore was a hugely successful event. Over 130 people, including Geoffrey Keating, Ambassador of Ireland to Singapore; Steve Dixon, President of LASALLE College of the Arts; and other notable friends of Ireland in Singapore, attended an evening that celebrated the rich cultures of two island nations, Ireland and Singapore. This evening of music, literature and laughter was held at LASALLE College of Arts, was co-organized and sponsored by The Ireland Funds Singapore. The program included readings by Irish community members of noted Irish texts, and performances by up and coming Singaporean artists. The Ireland Funds Singapore is a lead sponsor of the McNally Legacy Project – Celebrating Contemporary Art at LASALLE College of Arts. This project commemorates the artistic and educational contributions of Brother Joseph McNally, the founder of LASALLE College of the Arts. A renowned educator, artist, and humanitarian, he established and enriched arts education in Singapore through the lens of his Irish roots and forged a pathway for the development of contemporary arts practitioners and thought leaders in creative industries today.
