The Ireland Funds is looking for a suitable person to fill a new role of Grants & Education Programme Assistant and join our team as soon as possible.

About The Ireland Funds

The Ireland Funds is a global philanthropic network established in 1976 to promote and support peace, culture, education, and community development throughout the island of Ireland, and Irish related causes around the world. In addition to a significant portfolio of grantmaking, it also has two significant scholarship programmes, ‘No Mind Left Behind’ and the ‘George Moore Scholars’.

Grants & Education Programme Assistant

The main responsibilities of the Grants & Education Programme Assistant will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Programmes

1. The Ireland Funds No Mind Left Behind Programme

  • Overseeing the Grant Administration process for each student’s scholarship, including:
    • Issuing paperwork
    • Updating Salesforce records
  • Processing and payment of grants:
    • Verifying student bank details
    • Requesting student payment confirmation
  • Assisting with the gathering of End-of-Year Reporting from each NMLB scholarship student:
    • Requesting and follow up.

2. George Moore Scholars

  • Assisting when necessary, including:
    • Issuing paperwork
    • Updating Salesforce
    • Processing of grants

3. The Ireland Funds Monaco Bursary

  • Managing the bi-annual Ireland Funds Monaco Bursary by being the key contact for
    applicants and successful candidates, handling and evaluating applications and suggesting
    a short list to the Trustees of the Princes Grace Irish Library for final decision.

Donor Services

Research, Impact Reporting and Proposal Writing

  • Developing bespoke donor proposal documents, materials, impact statistics and reports for The Ireland Funds team.
  • Requesting and reviewing progress reports from grantee organisations when required.
  • Preparing project visits and itineraries for donors and The Ireland Funds staff.
  • Co-ordinating project visits for The Ireland Funds Annual Conference.

Grant Rounds

  • Contributing to the overall work of The Ireland Funds grant making and funding priorities.
  • Contributing as a reviewer for open grants calls.
  • Organising, evaluating, and vetting applications received and preparing recommendations for The Ireland Funds Boards.

General Services

  • Continual updating of existing information and entry of new information to Salesforce with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Representing The Ireland Funds occasionally at events.

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience in research and proposal writing
  • Understanding of the charitable sector
  • Knowledge of governance and compliance within the sector
  • Proficiency in the use of Grant Management Software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude


Term
Initial 12 month contract with possibility of extension

Hybrid. Staff members are required to work from Dublin office three days per week
