Dr. Maurice Hayes. 1927 – 2017
The Ireland Funds is deeply saddened at the passing of Dr. Maurice Hayes.
Maurice was an extraordinarily wise, decent, intelligent and humorous man whose contribution to The Ireland Funds over the past forty years simply cannot be overstated. He was a driving force behind The Ireland Funds from its earliest days. In particular, Maurice guided us in our grant making in Northern Ireland during the torrid times of the Troubles. We are so fortunate to have had him as our Chairman, our guide and our dear friend. Maurice spoke with such passion and power at The Ireland Funds Conference in June, his commitment to The Ireland Funds being as ardent as ever.
Our thoughts are with his beloved Joan and his family. His wisdom and humanity have made such a difference to so many.
