The American Ireland Fund Golf Society Official Launch

The American Ireland Fund Golf Society was officially launched with a three-day golf outing in Ireland June 15-18, 2010.  U.S. members Bob Loftus, Golf Society co-chair, Anthony Callaghan, Golf Society co-chair, Michael P. Gallagher, and Anne McCarthy joined with colleagues from the Dublin area and golfed at The European Club, The K Club, where a dinner for golfers and families was held, and Portmarnock.  Their spouses and families enjoyed day trips to Glendalough, and Powescourt, as well as private guided tours of Newgrange and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Following the golf outing, Society members attended the Ireland Funds Worldwide Conference.
Plans are being made for the June 2011 Golf Society Members’ trip.  The outing will be based at Doonbeg Golf Club, where Golf Society member Brian Shaw is the Golf Pro, with golf at Doonbeg, Lahinch and Ballybunion and tours for spouses and families.

More details to come.  Charter memberships are still available until June 30.  Please visit the Golf Society page at http://theirelandfunds.org/golf-society.
