The Sydney Supporters lunch took place on Thursday the 3rd of September kindly hosted by David Wiadrowski at PWC. We always love the opportunity to thank our supporters and update them on The Fund’s activities and upcoming events.
We were delighted to have Ruth Tarlo join us to present the inaugural Hyman Tarlo Scholarship to Samuel Tyrer in honour of her late husband and to welcome Emirates as our new major sponsor.
Our Chairman John O’Neill AO spoke about the projects we have supported this year as well as the $585,000 we have donated in our grant rounds in 2014 and 2015 to our flagship projects some of which include:
• Solas
• Suas Education Development
• Barnardos Loughlinstown
• Junior Achievement Ireland
• Drumragh Integrated College in Omagh
• SOAR
• The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation
• The Chair of Modern Irish Studies at the University of New South Wales
John also highlighted the two very important upcoming events for which we would love support:
1) The Global 5K Fun Run Sat 26 Sep. Being organised by our Young Leaders and will take place in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. It will be officially launched in Melbourne by Sonia O’Sullivan and in Sydney by Damien Leith and his family.
2) The Sydney Garden Party on Sun 8 Nov – guests were urged to consider hosting a table for friends & business associates.
The afternoon was closed out with H.E. Amassador Noel White and David Wiadrowski’s vote of thanks.
