St. Patrick’s Celebration

On Thursday, March 12, 2009 the Boston Young Leaders hosted their annual St. Patrick’s Celebration at the scenic State Room. A wonderful crowd of 300 guests filled The State Room and enjoyed the great food and entertainment while participating in an exciting silent auction. Part of the proceeds from this year’s event supports the Belvedere Youth Club in Dublin, Ireland and the Boys and Girls Club of Dorchester, MA.

Supporting
The Belvedere Youth Club is located in the North Inner City in Dublin, one of the most deprived areas in Ireland. It is one of the largest programs of its kind in the country and includes facilities such as a sports hall, gymnasium, training kitchen, computer training and recreational areas. Like the Belvedere Youth Club, the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club’s mission is to inspire all young people, from diverse circumstances, to realize their full potential by providing opportunities for personal growth to become contributing, caring and responsible members of the community. The American Ireland Fund Young Leaders are proud to support these wonderful organizations through their St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

Special guests at this year’s event were Celtic Thunder, an Irish vocalist group who perform concerts throughout the year as well as a concert special produced for television. The group performed a number of songs to the delight of the crowd. In addition to Celtic Thunder’s performance, guests enjoyed a night of dancing to the lively music of the band The Modern Kitchen.

Thank you to lead sponsor Synergy for their continued generosity and support of the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

Thank you to the Event Co-Chairs, Colleen Freeman, Marcelle Murray and Frank Powell for all their hard work and dedication to this event. The American Ireland Fund also extends special gratitude to the Young Leaders St. Patrick’s Committee for all of their support.
