New York St. Vincents GAA Club New York Gala Dinner 2016

St. Vincents Football, Hurling and Camogie Club has been synonymous with Gaelic games in Dublin and beyond for the past eighty five years. The rich history of the club is second to none in GAA circles. Founded in 1931 and located in Marino on the north side of Dublin city, the club is the most successful club side in Dublin with 27 senior football championship titles, 6 Leinster football titles and 3 All Ireland football championships, most recently in 2014.

The club also has 11 Dublin senior hurling championship titles and one Leinster Camogie title. Notable past players and managers include the great Kevin Heffean, Tony Hanahoe, Brian Mullins,Jimmy Keaveney, Des and Lar Foley, Mickey Whelan, Pat Gilroy and Ger Brennan to name but a few. The current players include Diarmuid Connolly, Michael Savage and New York’s very own Shane Carthy. St. Vincents currently has over 900 members participating in games from 6 years of age to adult.

The club have embarked on a major fundraising project to upgrade the club facilities. The success of ‘the Storyboard Project’ will ensure that the club has a state of the art facility to play Gaelic games, continue to develop GAA stars of the future and ensure a fitting legacy to the legends of the past. St. Vincents are partnered with a number of local schools and play an active part in promoting and co-ordinating the playing of Gaelic games in these schools.
