New York Leadership Forum Taoiseach Breakfast 2014

On Wednesday, September 24th, The American Ireland Fund hosted a breakfast for An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny with Board members and key donors.

The Chairman of The American Ireland Fund, John Fitzpatrick welcomed the Taoiseach and Kieran McLoughlin, Worldwide President & CEO gave the Taoiseach a report on the state of The Fund.

The Taoiseach spoke about the current economic state of Ireland, how things have changed for the better since the darkest days of the recession and bailout and the signs that brighter days were ahead. He also spoke of the strength of the relationship between the United States and Ireland and how that will continue because of the work of The American Ireland Fund and the important connection with the worldwide Irish diaspora.
An Taoiseach then opened the floor to questions from the group and offered insight on a variety of topics in Ireland, including: entrepreneurialism both social and business, peace in Northern Ireland and the future of the Irish economy.

Guests at the breakfast included Ambassador to the United States, Anne Anderson; Ireland’s Consul General to New York, Barbara Jones and Academy Award winning actor, Daniel Day-Lewis as well as many American Ireland Fund Board Directors including Adrian Jones, Shane Naughton, Michael Higgins, Susan Davis, John Daly, John Sharkey, Amb. Elizabeth Bagley, John Dufy, Leslie King Grenier, Kip Condron, Eugene McQuade, Tara McCabe and the Chairman Emeritus, Loretta Brennan Glucksman.
