The 63rd Wexford Festival Opera will
run for 12 days from Wednesday, 22
October until Sunday, 2 November 2014.

on her first official engagement and enjoy special guest performances by 2014 Wexford Opera Alumnus Award recipient Bryan Hymel and special guest performer Marie-Ève Munger.

Proceeds will directly benefit this year’s European premiere of
Pulitzer Prize-winning American opera, Silent Night.

Ireland’s new Consul
General, Barbara
Jones
, is a native of
Co. Wexford
She has served in
different policy
areas, primarily in Anglo Irish and European
Union related issues. She was head of
Humanitarian Aid policy and travelled
extensively in Africa. Other overseas
postings include at the Consulate General
of Ireland in San Francisco and Minister
Counsellor at the Embassy of Ireland in
London. Prior to her arrival in New York,
she held the role of Joint Secretary at the
British-Irish Intergovemental Secretariat in
Belfast. The Wexford Opera Gala marks her
first official engagement as incoming Consul
General of Ireland.

Bryan Hymel is one
of the fastest-rising
tenor stars in the
world of opera today
and one of Wexford
Festival Opera’s
most famous alumni.
A highly sought-after and multi-award
winning recitalist and performer, he has
appeared in many of the world’s most
accomplished opera houses and festivals
from the Royal Opera House to his hailed
Metropolitan Opera debut in December
2012. Following his European debut with
Wexford Festival Opera in 2007, he made his
Caegie Hall debut with Renée Fleming and
retued to perform in the opening opera of
the new Wexford Opera House in 2008.

soprano MarieÈve
Munger

already enjoys
a flourishing
inteational career. Recent winner of
first prize at the Mamande Inteational
Competition, she quickly gained
recognition for her “graceful, virtuosic”
performances. During the 2013–14
season, she makes her debut at the
Teatro alla Scala and at the Aix-en-
Provence Festival. Future engagements
include performances with the Chicago
Symphony, BBC Symphony Orchestra
and the Opéra-Comique in Paris. She
made her debut in America with Gotham
Chamber Opera and Minnesota Opera.
Marie-Ève joins Wexford Festival Opera
this year performing the lead soprano
role in Don Bucefalo.
