GREAT PARTNERSHIPS – INCREDIBLE RESULTS!

The proceeds from the Best of Ireland dinners have helped some of Ireland’s sickest children. The close-knit partnership forged between The Children’s Medical Research Foundation (CMRF), The GMAC Foundation, and The American Ireland Fund, demonstrates the power of committed people and organizations working together to make a positive difference to the lives of others. Thanks to the generosity of all those who supported our dinners, four new rooms have been fully funded at The Children’s Heart Centre at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin – a brand new state of the art facility caring for over 550 patients annually.

Since 1984, CMRF has been dedicated to
improving the health and well-being of children and their families affected by
childhood illness and disease. Proud of our
long history, our primary focus has been to support ireland’s leading pediatric research institution, the National Children’s Research Centre based at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin in Dublin, Ireland.

A non-profit 501(c)(3) organisation, the Foundation is based in NYC and is affiliated with the Children’s Medical & Research Foundation in Crumlin, Ireland.

The GMac Foundation and Graeme McDowell are committed to supporting seriously ill children in Ireland and the United States. Working with the leaders in children’s medicine, the Foundation raises funds for vital pediatric research  and critical hospital projects. In addition, the Foundation brings children recovering from serious illnesses, and their families, from all over Ireland to Florida for the holiday of a lifetime. Graeme is also a committed supporter of Multiple Sclerosis charities, a cause that remains as one of his personal priorities.

The American Ireland Fund is part of The Worldwide Ireland Funds, a philanthropic network across 12 countries that has raised over $500 million for worthy causes in Ireland and Irish causes around the world. It is the largest network of friends of Ireland dedicated to supporting programs of peace and reconciliation, arts and culture, education and community development.  Founded in 1976, The Worldwide Ireland Funds have benefited over 3,000 organizations. Funds raised are contributed by private sources, individuals, corporations and foundations.

In response to the severe downtu in the Irish economy, The Worldwide Ireland Funds launched the Promising Ireland Campaign in 2009 to raise $100 million for charities experiencing an increased demand for their services at a time of a major reduction in resources. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of donors, the initial goal was doubled to raise $200 million by the end of 2015. The second goal was achieved six months ahead of schedule. As a result, over one third of the Funds’ total eaings since foundation have been raised during the six years of the Campaign. The Campaign will continue to raise key support for charities until its scheduled conclusion at the end of 2015. Over 800 outstanding projects and organizations have received support from the Promising Ireland Campaign.

The American Ireland Fund holds a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator in recognition of efficiency, sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.
