The 2017 New York Dinner Gala was launched on Thursday March 9th at Current at Chelsea Piers. Over the past forty years this event has raised over $55 million for deserving Irish projects across Ireland and here in the United States and is the largest of the over 150 events hosted annually by The Ireland Funds across 12 countries.
John Fitzpatrick welcomed the Dinner Committee in particular this year’s Dinner Chairman, Dan Keegan, Co-Head of Global Equities at Citi and the 2017 Leslie C. Quick Jr. Leadership Award recipient, Jim O’Donnell, Global Head of Investor Sales and Relationship Management at Citi. Jim and Dan have been great champions of the Irish American community and of the causes supported by The Ireland Funds.
Prior to the dinner, members of the Dinner Committee gathered for their first meeting to embark on driving and promoting the dinner. With a target of $2.6 million, the Dinner Committee will be the backbone of the dinner which will provide funding for The Ireland Funds’ Grant Round to help support hundreds of outstanding charities across the island of Ireland.
