ABOUT THE IRELAND FUNDS

When the pandemic spread across Ireland last Spring, The Ireland Funds moved quickly to establish its COVID-19 Response Fund to make emergency grants to frontline Irish organizations addressing the issues of food poverty, domestic violence & child abuse, elderly services, disability support, access to education and mental health.

Since then, over 140 organizations providing COVID-19 relief, support and recovery services have received funding. These grants have enabled organizations such as
FoodCloud to provide over 250,000 nutritious meals to those in need, while funding for the Early Learning Initiative enabled them to reach over 1,000 educationally disadvantaged pre-school children in Dublin’s inner city through remote home visits and the ongoing delivery of learning materials and activity packs.

The mission of The Ireland Funds is to harness the power of a global philanthropic network of friends of Ireland to promote and support peace, culture, education and community development across the island of Ireland and among Irish communities around the world.
