Los Angeles Leadership Series Luncheon for Ambassador Mulhall 2018

On Monday October 29th 2018, The Ireland Funds hosted a special Leadership Series Luncheon to welcome back H.E. Dan Mulhall and his wife Greta to Los Angeles, as well as Consul General to the Western United States Robert O’Driscoll and his wife Caoimhe Ní Chonchoille.

The Ireland Funds VP Development Jonathan Loughran greeted the guests which included long-time supporters of The Ireland Funds as well as several new friends, noting in particular the members of the prestigious O’Reilly Rooney Society that acknowledges supporters who have gifted over $1m to The Ireland Funds for deserving Irish causes.

H.E. Dan Mulhall addressed the group on the ongoing political impasse in Northern Ireland along with the Irish Government’s stance on Brexit, and discussed the importance of The Ireland Funds and its genesis to help bring peace to the island of Ireland. He emphasized the role of Irish America in advancing Ireland’s interests and engaged in an enlightening group discussion with guests, including the confirmation that Los Angeles will have its own Consulate of Ireland in 2019 with the appointment of a new Consul General and Vice Consul General.

The lunch was attended by Jonathan Loughran, VP LA and Marjorie Muldowney, VP San Francisco along with National Board Director Harry Hartford, members of the LA Regional Advisory Committee Alan Hearty, Drew Buckley and Mark Mullen, supporters of The Ireland Funds, and many of Los Angeles’ business and cultural leaders such as award-winning actress and producer Roma Downey, and actress, philanthropist and entrepreneur Danielle Ryan. We were particularly pleased to have Gavin O’Reilly, son of The Ireland Funds co-founder Sir Anthony O’Reilly, also in attendance also.
