Irish Night on Cape Cod

The American Ireland Fund held its first “Irish Night on Cape Cod” event on the Ocean Terrace at Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Brewster, MA on Friday, August 13th. The event was hosted by American Ireland Fund National Director and long time supporter of the Fund, Joe Corcoran, Chairman of Corcoran Jennison Companies and his wife Rose. Along with the Corcorans, we thank the Event Committee, Jack and Trish Brennan, Jay and Carolyn Carroll, Bill and Barb Connolly, John and Kathy Drew, John and Ann Grady, Dave and Kathy Greaney, Corey and Deedee Griffin, Jay and Linda Hooley, John and Rose Mahoney, Tom and Shelly O’Neill, Scott and Nancy Powers, Jack and Alissa Sebastian, and John and Amy Sten, for the most successful launch of this new event.

It was a wonderful night on the terrace with a beautiful sunset and over 150 friends and supporters of AIF enjoying Irish music and terrific food. Steve Greeley, Executive Director thanked everyone for coming and updated the guests on all the news of the Fund and recent grants. Joe Corcoran also spoke, entertaining the crowd with stories of his family’s trip to Ireland and his strong connection to his heritage.

Among the guests attending, were John Hailer of Natixis; Dr. Michael Collins, Chancellor of UMASS Medical Center and his wife Maryellen; Bob Sheridan of SBLI and his wife Jean; John Cullinane of the Cullinane Group and his wife Diddy; and Vice Consul of the Irish Consulate Boston Deirdre Ni Fhalluin and her husband Paul Brandon.
