Great Britain – Ambassador’s Dinner 2022

Ambassador’s Dinner
Embassy of Ireland, London

On Tuesday 22nd February, donors and friends of The Ireland Funds Great Britain were hosted by HE Ambassador Adrian O’Neill and his wife Aisling for dinner at the Embassy of Ireland in London.

It was the first time that the dinner had been held since 2020 and a wonderful evening was had by all.

The evening began with a welcome reception in the Salon, guests then made their way to the Ballroom and were welcomed by Ambassador O’Neill. IFGB Director, Katie Jemmett, spoke on behalf of The Ireland Funds, remarking how the evening is always a highlight of IFGB’s annual events calendar. Ms Jemmett proceeded to talk about the purpose of The Ireland Funds and the far reaching the impact of its grants; noting that IFGB made grants to 46 organisations in 2021 and globally, The Ireland Funds made grants to 300 organisations.

Following dinner, Ambassador O’Neill took to the podium to make his remarks. He spoke about the strength of the relationship between Ireland and Britain and invited questions from guests.

Guests were then treated to a delightful performance by Tara Viscardi and Rob Finegan, on harp and saxophone respectively. Their toe-tapping polka provided a high energy close to the evening.
