2014 Ireland-U.S. Gaelic Heritage Award Honorees

Michael Brewster
Managing Director, Credit Suisse Securities (USA)

As one of Irish America’s leading business people, Michael Brewster’s contribution to the Gaelic Players Association’s U.S. Advisory Board has helped develop our network in New York and in the U.S. to a level we scarcely could envisage three years ago.

His leadership, courage and altruistic zeal have provided a clear pathway for the GPA; his advocacy and influence have opened doors and brought the story of our work, our games and our players to a powerful audience.

Bo in Longford, Michael Brewster was educated in Athlone Institute of Technology and Thomas Edison State College where he eaed a B.Sc. in business administration.

He has spent over two decades managing investments for high net worth and institutional clients. He joined Credit Suisse Private Banking USA as a managing director in 2008.
Michael serves on the boards of the Irish Inteational Business Network (IIBN), the U.S. Foundation Board of The National University of Ireland, Galway and is a Director of the Ireland-U.S. Council.

Michael has been profiled for many years by “Irish America Magazine” as one of the top 50 Irish Americans on Wall Street. He has also been included by Barron’s Magazine (2009—2014) as one of the Top 1,000 Financial Advisors in America.

Thomas A. Moore
Senior Partner, Kramer Dillof, Livingston & Moore

When the Gaelic Players Association took its first tentative steps in developing a network of supporters for our work in New York and the U.S., Thomas Moore was at the vanguard.
A proud Waterford native, he moved immediately to provide valuable assistance for the GPA’s education program and this support has helped make a demonstrable difference to the personal development of many of our Gaelic athletes.

Having an association with a man of the stature of Thomas Moore has proven invaluable to the GPA. One of the most outstanding lawyers in America, he has been a powerful advocate for our work.

Thomas Moore is an inspiration to all Irish people. Twice named as a Trial Lawyer of the Year in the National Law Joual, he arrived to the U.S. as a 17-year-old before going on to graduate from the Catholic University, Washington, D.C. in 1968 and from Fordham Law School in 1972.
Moore’s remarkable legal career encompasses advocacy, research, writing and charitable work. He has funded scholarships at his alma mater, Fordham Law School, and has endowed a chair in Trial Advocacy. In addition he has worked on behalf of breast cancer victims and sustainable healthcare through Andean Health and Development in Ecuador.
