On Saturday, September 24, 2016, The Ireland Funds Young Leaders hosted-The Irish Run the World-The Ireland Funds Global 5k 2016, which spanned over 20hrs and covered 80km in 16 different cities and 6 different countries.
Young Leader Abbey Canning chaired the Chicago run with the help of fellow Young Leaders David Shine and Meghan Lee.
The Chicago runners gathered at Fleet Feet Sports on a beautiful morning to run the race and pass the baton off to Dallas. By the time Chicago ran, other global cities had concluded their own 5K runs and were watching the US to see if the best times could be bested.
Rob Allen and Rachael Davies, from team KPMG, and Michael Woods shared the Chicago first place finish.

Proceeds from the day’s run support The Ireland Funds and their vital work with worthy charities across the island of Ireland and Irish causes around the world.
