On a wonderful balmy night at Blackbird in Brisbane, it was terrific to see friends and supporters of the Ireland Funds Australia come together to connect, have some fun and provide an opportunity for people to give back. Executive Director Teresa Keating congratulated to Board Member Dr. Tom Moore whose son Stephen, former Captain of the Wallabies was acknowledged in the Queens Honour List the week before. It was also great to have Former Board Member Sallyanne Atkinson AO join on the night and our Brisbane Young Leader Committee were also in attendance headed up by Jude Bolger.
Teresa gave an update of the work of the Fund and was thrilled to advise attendees that in 2018 our largest ever grant round of more than $1.8 million was donated to projects such as Science Gallery Melbourne, Integrate My School and the Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute and that since our inception 32 years ago, The Ireland Funds Australia has donated more than $12.3 million to 115 projects across the island of Ireland and here in Australia.
Teresa thanked attendees for their support, helping the Fund to become the largest network of Friends of Ireland in Australia and around the Globe, impacting the lives of many people and providing hope, a wonderful gift to give.
