On Friday, July 31st, The American Ireland Fund held their sixth annual “Irish Night on Cape Cod” on the Ocean Terrace at Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Brewster, MA. American Ireland Fund National Board Director and longtime supporter Joe Corcoran was once again our gracious host at his resort with over 140 attendees including Irish Consul General Breandán Ó Caollaí and his wife, Carmel, as well as several National Board members of The American Ireland Fund.
The setting, on one of the Cape’s most picturesque terraces overlooking Cape Cod Bay, highlighted by a spectacular pink sunset soon replaced by the full “blue” moon of August, was spectacular. Steve Greeley, New England Director of The American Ireland Fund, thanked everyone and spoke about the Irish bond shared by the gathering and The American Ireland Fund’s long tradition of celebrating and nurturing that bond while delivering real support to many vital Irish non-profit projects. Host Joe Corcoran also welcomed the gathering and spoke about his deep appreciation of his Irish heritage and admiration for the work of The American Ireland Fund. Irish Consul General Breandán Ó Caollaí thanked The American Ireland Fund for its many outreaches on behalf of Ireland and it’s critical role in strengthening the link between Irish America and Ireland.
Chairpeople John & Tracee Hynes, Kevin & Rita Gill, and Ed & Jenn Murphy led a hard-charging Committee to a most successful night. Committee Members included: Steve & Kathryn Brackett, Jack & Trish Brennan, Jay Calnan, Chris & Nancy Coburn, Kip & Peggy Condron, Bill & Barb Connolly, Joe Corcoran, Jim & Kerrie Coughlin, John & Kathy Drew, Ryan & Maura Fitzpatrick, Tom & Gina Flannery, John & Maureen Hailer, Jay & Linda Hooley, John & Carla Morey, Tom & Shelly O’Neill, Matthew & Margaret Power, Scott & Nancy Powers, Jack & Alissa Sebastian and Mike & Carolyn Stevens. Many Boston Young Leaders also attended, including Shane & Jessica Early, Joanna Litsas, Georgia Litsas, Christine Gill, Marianne Gill, Stephanie Gill, Tommy Greeley and Chris Steele.
